Non-generic power metal

Can I have some power metal that isn't generic like Hammerfall, etc? I really don't care about the cheese factor at all. Also, I already have Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Iced Earth, Hammerfall (who I hate,) and Helloween (Keeper of the Seven Keys).

Annihilator-Alice In Hell

Both good examples of the genre, although they did get lumped in the Thrash genre which never sat right with a lot of fans.
 
Definitely check that out, its fantastic. And I can;t see them ever really being thrash. Im sure they have been put into that along with god knows how many other metal sub genres.
 
Although the vocals are an acquired taste, I am a big fan of Kind Diamond and they might not quite be powerful enough but they (he) has one of the best pure metal sounRAB I have heard (this is probably where I lose a cool point):

Light from Above - Black Tide.

Pretty much the only power metal I've seeked out so far, and they sound pretty good to me.
 
Just a few which i don't mind listening to once in a blue moon-

Falconer - S/T
Primal Fear - Seven Seals
Tad Morose - Matters Of The Dark
Agent Steel - Skeptics Apocalypse
Iron Savior - Condition Red

There are a few more, but i can't remeraber rite now. Been a long while since i listened to power metal.
 
Hmn. Kamelot and Stratovarius have always been top class for me when I'm in the mood for power metal, though I don't see people talk about 'em much here on rabroad...

Galneryus from Japan is also worth looking into. ;)
