How about I give you a list of what Im digging right now.
The Stooges - The Stooges - just picked it up on vinyl finally and Im really really into it again, its taking me back to being a teenager
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures - bought it again at the same record sale. Awesome album.
A Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower - Dissertation, Honey - Heavy rock verging on hardcore verging on math rock with a bit of free jazz thrown in for good measure. Bits of it will make you bang your head till your neck breaks and other bits will make you want to move your feet like they're on fucking fire
Love Like... Electrocution - She Was Red Hot - Aussie band, again borderline screamo/emo, I and a few frienRAB of mine dubbed this shit spazzcore, because the only way you can dance to it, and trust me, you will want to, is like a fucking retard. Just fucking TRY to keep up with the timing changes, I dare ya.
Notwist - Neon Golden - Ex hardcore band once again who turned very mellow indie. Some electronic sounding beats and clanging fucking noisy guitars over the top. I don't delve into this sort of shit often but I was rewarded this time.
Q and Not U - Different Damage - A little more New-wave than their first release, which was fairly strict post-hardcore/mild spazzcore, this album is very different from a lot of stuff around lately. Track 2, So Many Animal Calls, is fucking standout. Try not to band on your desk with your fists to this song.
TV on The Radio - Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes - You know all those cool parts in Peter Gabriel songs that got ruined by the rest of the song? Well this is all of the good bits in one. The singer sounRAB like some crazy gospel singer, and the tracks are without fail atmospheric, spooky, and really moving.
