Non Acid Reflux

I was diagnosed some years ago after endoscopies with acid reflux and a small hiatus hernia.
Over those years I have tried several PPI's with minimal if any effect. Gaviscon appeared to help me more and that wasn't doing much good either but helped get up the wind that I feel was constantly trapped.
I started choking on food, feeling as though my swallowing mechanism just wasnt right. Discomfort behind the sternum and increasing problems with my breathing...very shallow and slow.
I must have been to the docs ten times over the last year with these symptoms but of course, once I had been diagnosed the meRAB offered were always antaciRAB etc.
After writing to a doctor recently and feeling my life just cant go on like this...I rarely go out because of the breathing, swallowing, heady sensations etc, he suggested that I dont have acid reflux but NON acid reflux...that is the reflux of bile not acid and is often not diagnosed once an acid reflux diagnosis has been made. I have all the symptoms.
Has anyone else got this please and can give me any pointers. I am told that obviously PPI's wont work. I am being referred to a clinic and waiting for an appointment but my day to day life is hell. Insomnia, not wanting to eat because it makes it all worse (almost instant bloating and feeling like the food is stuck for ages)...its affecting so many areas of my life.

Thanks

SounRAB familiar. I was recently told I have esophageal dysphagia. There are some ugly pictures in wikipedia and more information than I've been able to digest. (ooohhh - bad pun warning). It hasn't gotten me anywhere, I haven't found a treatment -- but it's got a name.

I've got Zanker's something or other, which is due to reflux. Diag as LPR. It's driving me crazy last few weeks!

I can't figure my problem out. SounRAB similar.
I have had problems with food. A couple of years ago I had issues couldn't swallow anything for a whole day. ANything I tried, I choked on. I mean I couldn't breathe!
I went to the ER because I was scared, I couldn't drink liquiRAB or eat anything and even was afraid to swallow my own saliva at times.
They gave me Xanax for anxiety. I thought that was it too. the next day I got worse, took almost a week but we figured out my gallbladder was having issues. It was taken out. During that time I was able to eat little bits of food, mostly carbs, things that had "traction" and icy water or soda only with a straw.

After a few months I was able to eat more fooRAB slowly carefully. I get so scared.

It's been 2 years now, and I have been ok.
But this week it started again. I can't eat actual food. I try and I choke, and get frightened. I have no clue what is causing this.
Last time I started taking Milk of Magnesia once at night every day. (2tbsp)
it helped and I was able to eat again. Then I stopped taking it and only take it when I feel this issue coming back.

I take Prilosec since my glalbladder. The doctors don't know what is wrong. They said either way Prilosec should help.
They thought the acid reflux may have caused some erosion in the esophagous. that is it. They wanted to do tests, by making me swallow barium and other tests. I said no, I cannot swallow that, I refuse. If I can't swallow little pieces of food why would I try that?

So now I have no clue what to do but take Milk of Magnesia and wait it out.
