After posting on the BEST remake thread, for John Carpenter's The Thing...
... it reminded me of what a botched effort Assault on Precinct 13 was. I swear there was an Editorial Meeting somewhere where they consciously decided to take all the elements that made the original so striking, and so revolutionary for its' day, and get rid of them.
