I had to send my e50 back today it didn't have a camera, now I think that I am going to wait for this one. Any word on availability.

does your camera have manual mode?
or Aperture Priority mode?
if it does....do this: focus on the keypaf then set your shutter speed to 2 secs or if in aperature priority mode set to lowest F# and take the shot. make sure you have a tripod or something that would hold the camera still.

seems like your camera is taking a shot with a fast shutter speed and its focusing on the screen alone and not the rest of the body.
try not to focus on the screen at all.

Manual mode? 2 second exposure/ Let me repeat again: its a tiny crap consumer digicam, not an SLR or DSLR. Which is why i told you the pictures would be bad in the dark.

I've had both, wouldnt say that. The silver/white is more conservative, that is all. Metal black looks a bit punkish with the black "flame" theme, but with a basic light blue theme it is really classy and undestated actually - a bit like those low key BMW M3's!!
