Nokia X6 16GB available for pre order @ Nokia USA

Yea, i'm in Ca. but no tax for me.

So far i've just been getting the settings the way i like them and downloading all my important apps to it. Coming from the N97, this phone will be great when it gets the v20 update. It suffers from the same issue as the old n97 sw, to where the dial pad is only numbers, no kinetic scrolling, when scrolling through contacts it does not display where you are within the alphabet. But i find scrolling in general is a lot better due to the capacitive touch screen. One thing that did surprise me is the C: drive. They finally got it right. After installing a few apps to the C: drive (including nokia messaging) i still have 256mb free. Ram is still low. On a fresh boot I have 46.4mb, then run RAMblow and i'm at 49.2mb. Appears to still also suffer from the n97 ram issue when trying to open up 1 web page. For some reason engadgetmobile.com is a tough one for the X6 and N97. On a fresh boot i dropped to 2-3mb ram when opening up engadgetmobile, as comparison i used to drop to about 8-9mb ram on the n97. More info to come later...

That is so disgusting. Only time I get to go to Nokia store is in HongKong, and they are closing it! On another note, all the photos of the Flagship stores I saw had 2-3 year old phones on display. What a dumb neglectful oversight. Can you imagine Apple making a boneheaded mistake like that? I don't think so.
Well on 2nd thought, having to live in NYC or Chicago wouldn't be that great either, I prefer Florida (with no hurricanes)

It really is just an updated 5800 with a better camera and capacitive. I think something below $400 would be a more reasonable price for this especially since the 5800 has dropped to around $250 but if all a person needs is that, it's a decent phone and I like the design of it.

Soon it will close..

I'm gonna miss the store.. Just got the new Booklet3G I wanted the sleeve that's on the NokiaUSA website..

Went to the Nokia Store and got it.. Saved time for Shipping.

I handled an X6, played around with it, thought it was okay. But at that time, and at that store, I didn't think it was worth having the same price as the N97 Mini.

The screen was responsive enough though. It felt like the 5800 with the 5530 software with a real capacitive screen. At $300-400 this would probably be the okay price range for it.

Let me correct myself.. It does have US 3G.. I hope this is what their selling..

RM-551

Nokia X6 operating frequencies depend on the region/variant where available:

* WCDMA 2100/1900/900 + GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 (RM-559 / Global)
* WCDMA 2100/1900/850 + GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 (RM-551 / LTA + Brazil)
* GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 (RM-552 / China 2G)

Considering the Fisher Price styling ques and chintzy build, yep, I'd pull the trigger on one for $250-ish and throw a case around it.

Even then it may not be worth it. I read a couple of user comments from the UK; one guy said that the X6 was so laggy that he wanted to pitch it out the window.

As said before, there is already a new FW that has fixed most if not all memory leak problems.

Liknsmak, well, not to point out the obvious or anything but the 16GB is another nice addition compared to the 5800, no? ;)
