Nokia X6 16GB available for pre order @ Nokia USA

True, however, my point was that even after the N97 was released with much criticism, they went ahead and released it broken and torn anyway. I realize that phones are planned and created far before we get them, but surely they must have at least considered to pull back the release of this phone amid the N97 issues.

The X6 would be a decent addition to the S60v5 portfolio (especially once the price settles to ~$399), but the same issues keep cropping up...here we are in Feb of 2010, almost 8 months after the N97 was released, and the memory issues still haven't been ironed out 100%.

I don't really count on FW updates actually fixing large issues anymore :disappoin
 
my point is that you said "it has worse memory issues than N97" which is not true. It may have had (not sure if they were worse), but it does not anymore. just trying to be accurate, that's all.

I of course do agree that its a huge shame and rather embarrassing form them that they released it with those problems initially.
 
yea i bought it from amazon for the 401 price. Got shipped to my work so i'm going to go pick it up now. Coming from both the n97 and the 5800 so i'll let you guys now how it compares.
 
I'd say it does have worse memory issues than the N97, as the N97 has gone through several FW versions to refine the memory management. In time, the X6 will be as good (or bad?) as the N97 :buddies:

Of course, I've not used the X6, so it could be just fine (going off of reviews only, mainly AAS's).
 
Well his profile listed california, and I know from experience with both stores that buy.com charges tax while amazon doesn't (though the government wants to change that :disappoin ). Not sure if its the same elsewhere :)
 
I played with it at the Nokia Store last night..

The capacitive touch is really great.. Its like a relief from the 5800 since both have the same size screen..

Also noticed.. No kinetic scrolling.. Why o Why?

If you got use to the 5800 touch.. the capacitive makes it tricky for you.. All the icons are freakin sensitive.. I kept on mistakenly opening apps or icons.

it has great feel in hand..

I still don't think its worth it though..
