Nokia Software Updater: No updates available?

Maybe someone knows what's going on

I got my N80 on Friday. Today, the first day I had access to a PC, I installed the updater software and tried to run it. I got an error saying that there was no software available. My version is 3.0617.0.6 and I thought v5 was available.


Any ideas?

There is no such thing as V5! This is a ridiculous rumor that keeps going around on this forum.

There is a V4, though.

but you will only get v4 if your current firmware is generic, 3 branded, or orange branded

No branding - still could not see a v4 update

Sorry, my N80 is from Hong Kong too. NSU never offered me an update from V3. When I was in Amsterdam a few weeks ago, I had if flashed and updated there.
The code in the ( ) at the end of your version is the key. Mine was (46-02), which means a Hong Kong model. Mine is now (06), which is one of the European versions. Not only did I got flashed to version 4, I was able to use FOTA to get V 4.0623.0.42 /20-09-2006 / RM-92
That seems to be your only option, to take it into a service center and have the version changed and flashed, or wait for Nokia to release an update for your version.
