Nokia ships 3.5 to 4 million N8's

I'll only amend that with the Middle East, Asia and Africa as the primary Nokia markets. Europe is still a major market for them, but they're slowly losing it. They've already lost, by 'lost' meaning losing their leadership position, in major countries in Western Europe like Germany and the U.K. I read a short piece from an investment house that did a Nokia analysis which saw continued erosion in developed markets, but growth in emerging markets.

Their real money makers aren't the N-series. It's the S40 phones. The problem is nobody in the tech press has any desire to cover candybar dumb phones, which is understandable.

Info comes from, I think, dsmobile at mobile-review, he said once that he saw a model with AT&T branding. I could have read it somewhere else, not sore.

Ok, he is usually reliable if he said that (cannot recall seeing it myself but its not like I've necessarily read all of his posts :)). AT&T is not. :p I.e. they could easily change their mind. I have heard that Nokia is for sure trying very hard to get it to AT&T.

i doubt att makes commitments to vaporware. I say it's 50-50 that Nokia changes it's mind on Meego and goes with something else instead. something with an established ecosystem.

believe me they are try as hard as they can to make it work in the usa. unfortunately S3 isn't going to be the answer. it's not a good enough solution. the carriers rejected it.

Put him on your ignore list - I just did. People like bendit get off on the reactions they get out of others so do everyone a favor and starve the beast. Put him on your ignore list and make like he's not even there. The things he's been posting lately are opinions so far out there, so completely unsubstantiated and so flat-out ridiculous that I cannot imagine anyone sane caring to read them. It's not like he adds anything to the conversation so exclude him.
