nokia phone not sending text?

I don't know which Nokia phone it is but it runs on AT&T. For no apparent reason the phone stopped sending text messages last night and there is no information as to what's wrong other than the phone stating "Message failed check details". The Details simply show a red exclamation mark and nothing else. Any help most welcome.
