I need some help setting up the wifi with my new N80. I enter all the settings and my wep key and it always says No gateway reply. I'm on Cingular so any help would greatly appreciated.

wait, why does it matter, what network you are on, it doesnt matter because it has nothing to do with the network, and i already replied to the pm u sent me.

'No proxy. Just wep key and I entered it in. It seems to get a connection because it says connected in the connection manager. But still no gateway reply. I have a laptop that gets on the net fine with my linksys router.

i had trouble using WEP on my N91, set it up with WPA2 with a PSK, everything works well now, you can save the key (although it did ask for it repeatedly at first )

i am using WEP and i have no problem with it.....

make sure that after u click on the WEB icon on the main menu.....go to options...settings.....accesspoint......i usually set this up so that it will always ask me what connection to use....

i tried on a linksys and a cisco router.....there could be a couple of reasons why it couldn't find the gateway....1....router restricts all devices from connecting except the onces that the router approve.....2. UPnP is not turn on at the router......3. no DHCP server on the router.....

if all those doesn't work...u can try reseting the router.....or like what other people did....and change to WPA....

working with laptop as an ad-hoc wireless modeJUST DISABLED FIREWALL)in my case norton) and worked like a charm. hope this will hwlp u guys.

Folks,

I may have something different from yours... Since the v3 to v4 and now v4.0632.0.38 (i.e. the N80 Internet Edition), I can never make WPA2 work at all. I have tried several Linksys, D-Link and Netgear routers at different places.

Wide open with no encryption, no problem; WEP, no problem; WPA-PSK with TKIP, no problem with my router (D-Link DI-634M, and I have set the cipher to use either AES or TKIP) at home but some would not; WPA-EAP at work, still fine; Just WPA2 would not go and always says authentication failed.

The strangest thing is that my router has a setting to allow WPA auto-fallback, i.e. if WPA2 fails, WPA will be used. While it works with my notebook and PDA - which I force them to use WPA only, the N80 will fail to authenticate. I have checked the log in the router, it says, "disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication".
