Nokia N80 Internet Edition

Hi.

I am interested in upgrading the firmware of my standard Nokia N80 with the internet edition firmware and know of how to do it using Nokia Software Updater and NSS by changing the product code.

A couple of questions, if I upgrade this firmware and decide to go back to the standard firmware, is it possible to revert back?

Does anyone know when an updated version of the standard N80 firmware will be released?

Thanks!

the only way to use an old firmware is to use a bb5 box, and im sure nokia are almost done with the n80 firmware, so there wont be any new version coming anytime soon.

Ok, so if I used phoenix I could change it back???
Do you personally prefer the IE firmware? Do you think it is worth the change?

no u cant use phoenix to change it back, u need a flash box to erase the whole firmware and then reload the old .dll files, but u wont want to change it back once uv updatede to N80IE, its great, web browser mem low probs have gone, mem low warning has been changed to 2.6 mb ram instead of 6.4 mb as it used to be in standard n80, it simply works better

ok! thanks for your help! I don't tend to get the memory low warnings at all when browsing WLAN, but it just seems to sound like a better phone and I like the idea of the WLAN wizard on the active standby as well.
I think i'll give it a go!

FYI you don't have to hack an N80 to get it to N80 IE now ... Nokia Software Updater will update it to N80 IE without changing the product code. They released all the fixes/additions for the N80 already thru NSU.

I tried to update my firmware using NSU but it keeps telling me that there is no update available for my phone. I entered the PRODUCT CODE to check if there's an update available and the website said that there is an update. Is there anything else I can do to update the firmware without hacking the unit?

thanks in advance.
