I finally ordered my Nokia N80 IE edition from amazon, my question is, is it obvious on the phone whether it is an IE version, how does one check apart from the firmware which could have been upgraded.
Just to be sure when I recieve the phone it is what I ordered and not the N80 version.
so if anyone can give me a few tips on how to check out fo the box for it being N80IE would be helpful,
thanks.

When I bought my phone from Nokia store, I couldn't tell the difference between the N80 and N80ie. I think the only way is that in the package you should receive a 256mb card instead of a 128mb. That's what I was told. Everything else stays the same except for software. That's why I bought an N80 and saved $50 and flashed to N80ie.....sorry, but that's all the help I can give.

Does it matter? I am pretty sure there is no significant price difference. And since you can make it an IE version by using Nokia's firmware update you will not be missing any functionality.

thats true, but somewhere in the forums there were discussions of losing ram which is not a big deal but if they are advertising , than it should be that product, so wanted to confirm. thanks anyways. after a long time going for the nokia phone again as had a windows mobile before but so love the N800 tablet that decided to go this route.

Yes, the N80 and N80IE is the exact same thing, The newest software release through NSU will update the n80 to same software as N80IE.

you'll save money buying the N80 for sure
