Nokia N8 Unlocked-Unbranded now available in Canada

Buying from Newegg is buying from a canadian company even though your phone is coming up from the states, seems strange but works great :) just like your buying it in canada.

It can charge with the 2mm. However, it depends on which 2mm charger you have. I read it has something to do with amps or something like that (not sure how you call it lol)

Well i have been doing some digging and cellworldco here in vancouver is selling them for 626.00 which is much easier to swallow then over 700 that NCIX is asking.

Thanks.
I totally forgot about cellworldco. If buying locally, they would be great. Then again, shopblt is about $500 total after shipping. Even with the USD to CAD conversion, it's roughly a few dollars more due to the Canadian dollar being almost on par.

second day with my n8 and im more inlove with this; im coming from and n95-3. i've played with most of the built in apps. downloaded some stuff. tried out the fm tuner and music player. i'm not a very heavy user, so i'm expecting the battery to last me at leas 2 days. i took the time screen saver off cuz it was annoying, lowered the screen brightness right down, and its still pretty bright. setup emails, home screen.

& does anyone know how to stop the phone from connecting to a wireless network? i ended up taking it off the destinations and just leaving my data connection, so it has to ask me when it wants to connect.

does anyone know if there a msn messenger app for the n8 yet? i didnt like the "all in one IMing" app in the ovi store.

things i learned: take clear plastic off camera lense before taking picture.
things that could improve: key board for sure & when you hit "EXIT" on the menu screen it doesn't completely exit it, its still running in the background.

no complaints =)

Did you do the usual price match during the checkout cart?

I tried their new ASPM function and I got denied. Lowest they were willing to offer was $624.

Woah your right, they are asking 455 so even after you convert and pay everything that is quite a bit cheaper. I have never bought anything from them, are they reputable? Also they have LOTS ordered but i have no idea how long it would take to get in. Cellworld said they are getting 5 on wed 3 silver ones adn 2 green ones.

Just got a tracking number from Newegg.ca via email, and this message:
(Shipped from Edison, NJ)
Shipping Time: 10/27/2010 1:01:15 PM

Should have it by Friday, since I paid extra for the Purolator International shipping.

How much are the brokerage fees that you get hit with when Fedex arrives at your door? $90? Or do you take a chance with the US/Canada Postal service?

I installed the new Ovi store software. Tried to go into the Ovi store again, and it shut off. Now I can't get it to reboot again. Hmmm. Been waiting since April to get this device, and sucks having to go through this.

I was one of the lucky few who ordered my N8 from NewEgg last night after midnight and got the dark grey model for $469, plus a bonus gift of a free Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Both being shipped free as of right now :)

Pretty pumped about getting in on that one! Hope my N8 doesn't have any of the reported issues but I'm confident that NewEgg will be able to help out if anything goes wrong.

Mine is in the same shipment, down to the second it seems :) I didn't have to pay extra though because it said something about 'purolator has determined it can deliver to your location using normal ground at the same speed as express air'

I honestly have no idea about brokerage fees, never really shipped anything into canada like that, i thought it was all part f the shipping cost.

Been charging now with the usb cable. I had it like that for awhile, pressed the power button, and it showed the Nokia logo on the screen (with a charging symbol in the upper right corner), and the light (which I did not know was there) next to the usb port is lite up now. I presume, this thing is just lacking power. Well, let's see what charging from the usb does over the next couple hours.

I notice that transformer on the 2 mm plug, has got to be the lightest and smallest transformer I have ever seen. This is my third Nokia phone, and those things are getting smaller each time.
