Nokia n8 release

Hard to say for sure. When I used an unlocked Treo (several of them, in fact) on AT&T I had to configure them for AT&T's data service. I had to set up internet/email, MMS, and even SMS. Other devices auto-configure based on the SIM card. Some Nokia phones can get a text message that contains the settings in the form of a link. Just opening the message activates the link and the user only has to say "yes" to importing the settings. So it all depends on the N8.

I got tired of waiting for this phone.... The n8 should have been the type of device that nokia should have released a year and a half ago. Granted the optics will be phenomenal but the tired clunky os will ultimately be its downfall. Once again like the n97 the n8 will be another stop gap device in nokias high end line up.

thanks for the info. I called nokia and they told me that I shouldn't have a problem at all, but I'm on the fence cause they tell one thing and you know how that goes. Plus the guy was trying to get me to pre-order the phone as well, so he could of told me what I wanted to hear.

Yup, finally confirmed the release date which is end of September as I have read on an article form timtechs, I sure hope this time it's for real

I already have an iPhone 4, Torch, and Nexus One.... yet I'm still intrigued by this N8. I would have already pre-ordered if it weren't for the leaked N9 pictures and rumored specs. It's tough to swallow Symbian when you know it's pretty much the last iteration before MeeGo.

Yes you will. I had used 4 Nokia phones on AT&T and only thing that I have to do is put in SIM. Phone gets all information from SIM and setups all services.

I'm going to unload my AT&T 3G Nexus One, and see what I can gather up from that sale. I want the phone, but can't justify it, really. The new TV-tuning headphones for the N8 look pretty interesting.

There is no specific NAM model. It's a 5-band phone so the same one will work virtually anywhere in the world on almost any carrier.
