Nokia n8 release

I imported the n96,never doing that again. When it craped out on me they wouldn't fix it. Saying it isn't The American version and would not touch it. I couldn't wait for the n8,I had to cop the HTC Evo instead.
 
We are always on a delay. I don't get why. Maybe they want a telecom like Rogers to pick it up. I was ready to order and saw its for states only. I might order it to a friend of mine and go pick it up. Still waiting for Canada to pop up.
 
Yes, probably. Some of us might have to wait for the side-by-side testing to believe that a 680 MHz ARM 11 + GPU is the equivalent of a 1 GHz ARM A4 with Power VR.

I am not sure that the N8's specifications are enough to keep me from buying an iPhone 4.
 
It depends on what you look in a phone. The N8, apart from the display size, wins over the iPhone in everything... except of course, apps, which to some are the main thing when buying a phone... to me for example, no. :) I am very happy with my current phone anyways, but these specs do look good.
 
well... If the N8 releases on T-Mo soon, but the iphone 4 has zero chance of going to T-Mo US, then I'll seriously consider the N8... I really would like the iphone 4, but not badly enough to go back to AT$T (has 1st gen and 3GS, but left them... too many dropped calls, way too pricey plan compared to T-Mo)... N8 has my interest right now... could be interesting... I love my 9700... but you know... :D
 
So does the N8 support Xvid? First they said yes, then no, but I haven't been following it for a few months. If it doesn't would it be possible to write an app for symbian (like Rockplayer for Android) to play them?
 
Hopefully it'll be in market before end of July (bing cashback deadline).
If it's sold by nokiausa would be better as it'll get US warranty. (Thanks goodness my N900 has warranty because the screen crapped out once).

I'm interested in getting this phone as well as you guys. My question to you phones gurus is, Do I need to modified the phone in any way in order for me to be able to browse the internet? Cause I have AT&T, or would I be able to browse the internet as the phone comes in its factory settings? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
