You may be right, but if the N900 is anything to judge by then the community members have far more ability than Nokia themselves.
Although I suppose in the case of the N900 it may be inclination that Nokia lack, rather than ability.
In any event, given Nokia's track record with software I would never underestimate the community over Nokia themselves.
