Nokia N75 thru cingular.....????

ya i love how people say its thick cuz its thicker than the razr...its 6 mm thicker....oh and by the way the n95 is only 7mm thicker than the razr and

razr 99x53x14 99g
n75 99x53x20 123.5g
n95 99x53x21 120g

personally i like a heavier phone so i dont care about the weight of the n75/95 i think it makes them feel more sturdy

How so? For any T-Mobile user, it doesn't matter anyway, since we won't be seeing the 1700 UMTS operational any time soon.

That's the same as saying we shouldn't buy the N80 because we don't have 2100 UMTS in the states. The phone still works, just not to its fullest potential. And where are the plans to see an s60 on T-Mobile's 1700 UMTS anyway?

That being said, the phone doesn't have any features other than the UMTS for Cingular that would make it of a higher value than what's on the market now if it's just going to be used for GSM.

This phone was ANNOUNCED with 1900 UMTS. How many people have to tell you that?

Edit: Oh, let me just add this.

Why don't they make a Dual UMTS. With 2100 and 1900. So we can all be happy..

Also Nokia should make a phone that's Dual SIM. So I can function 2 SIM on one phone.. Just like changing profiles.

I think Its a good Idea..

I don't get what you're saying? I think we're in agreement?

N75 = useless for T-Mobile since the N75's UMTS frequencies are no good for T-Mobile. That's what I said/meant in my original post.

Making this phone UMTS 1900/2100 would have been the dumbest thing Nokia could have done. Why, you ask? Because this is the third US 3G phone they've made. The first two (6282 and N80) got canned by Cingular cause they didn't have UMTS 850. So doing that again would have been the definition of insanity.

There's Dual SIM adapters out there. No one makes dual sim phones cause the demand is so freakin small. Specially in America. People here freakin complain cause they have to pay ONE bill, much less two.

I wouldn't say the N75 is useless on T-Mobile, you just can't use the 3G, but that's been the case since any of us have been porting Euro 3G phones to the states. I'm sure there's gotta be a T-Mobile user interested in an unbranded 2.0mp flip running s60v3 with a big screen, regardless of whether or not it uses 3G on his or her network.

Yeah, me neither. I'm honestly considering making the jump to Cingular if Nokia comes out with dual UMTS, since I'm fairly sure 1700 won't be on their To-Do list.

We the US are not followers!

We like to make our own trademark and let other countries follow us.

These are good examples.

US for Soccer and The rest of the world Futbol
Metric System
Left Hand Drive

So yeah we make our own frequency to be different from the rest of the world.

*sigh* this has been stated so many times it's disgusting. When the GSM council or whoever they are decided on frequencies, the two that the rest of the world chose were already used in the US for government/military use. It wasn't the FCC sitting around going, "hmmm, let's annoy the hell out of all the elite mobile phone users for the next few decades."

Even their manual is completely Cingular specific. I don't know if they've done that with other phones but this is the first time I see that. Also note how the key that used to be the gallery key is now a mode key that switches what mode the phone is in when the flip is closed....

Also reading the manual about the "Windows Player synch" feature, it seems all it is is a driver on the CD that adds your phone to the list of devices in WP10 and then you can drag files to it.

And I can't believe they adopted the "My Stuff" format lol.

I think it's gonna be Cingular's highest end device. It even supports buying music OTA, and hello Software Update.

Mainly because Cingular views the 8125 as a PDA whereas they view the S60 phones as just that, phones. It's why with a S60 phone you are able to order a media net plan with it on your account, and no one bats an eyelash.

Look for the N75 to hit shelves around the middle of the fourth quarter. That should mean November, just in time for the holiday shopping season. As always, release dates are very subject to change. The price will be $399 unsubsidized, meaning it should be much lower with a new or renewed contract, rebates, etc.
