Nokia N73 Question

I purchased a Nokia N73 off ebay from a seller in Hong Kong. I was under the impression that all HK phones were unlocked by default, but I soon discovered that it is not true. So I'm stuck with an N73 that is locked to Telecom Italia Mobile based in Italy, obviously it won't read my USA Cingular SIM card. I know it is impossible to unlock these phones, I've read this on these forums and others. But I was wondering what you guys would reccommend that I do; since I obviously need a phone and losing $500 is not nice. My final solution is to sell it but I'm hoping that I can get it unlocked by the phone company but I have no idea how to contact TIM because their entire website is in Italian and I was unable to find a contact number. Also has anyone had an experiences with asking a distributer to unlock it for you?

Why don't you try contacting Nokia? They might be able to help you. I don't understand why they would make a quad band phone if the providers are going to lock it anyway; this is useless for a world phone. It's okay if you can unlock it like the other Nokia but the sad part is that this is hard to unlock.

he cant do anything~

the only thing u can do is to contact the provider that the phone is locked to, or nokia themselves, obviously loveanh havent been reading the posts
