Nokia N73 Jog Dial Falling off?

Does anyone have experience dissambling it that can give me some tips, i tried glueing it back on but the sticks in certain directions now and barely clicks.

does anyone know if a new board would have the volume buttons too? i broke my up volume button, it's not the phone's fault... sorta. i dropped it and the up button was being sporadic, so i tried to fix it before i got a hold of a T6 screwdriver and actually tore the button apart on the board side. now my up volume button doesn't work.

edit: sorry if it's a little OT, but i didn't want to start a brand new thread.

I had a friend who pulled his n73 out of his pocket and the jog fell off, he used a little super glue and its been fine since.

Just be careful not to get the glue anywhere on the ouside of the nav button otherwise you'll end up with a nav button that doesnt move lol

I talked to a sales rep at the Nokia store in Chicago. He said the N73's have been delayed because of the joystick problem. The sales rep had an N73 and he had the same joystick problem, and super glued it back on.

I put mine back in place and it never came off.. Tried to pull it off too.. Feels kinda tight.. So I just left it alone for now..

Hopefully It will never fall off and force myself to glue it on.

If that falls off and gets misplaced that would be a big problem.. It would be too hard to find a replacement.

Hoping it doesn't happen again.. I'm very careful now and always looking and feeling it.

Yip indeed i admit i was surprised that the joystick fell out. It happens. I am saying made in finland is better, but i never say its perfect

but i guess since it happens to gwapz as well so i wasnt as surprise when it happened (like going into a shock )

And Oh yes!! I'm still proud to say Made in Finland Nokia phones are better!

It doesn't mean 1 failed its going to change my judgment toward Nokia phones!!

Tell you what.. After mine fell off, I put it back again with no glue.. Just put it back.. It never fell off no more.. Tried pulling it out.. Seems kinda tight, So just left it alone!!

You are probably right

this is what i have gotten after i wrote about it:

It seems there were a few problems with some of the early mats. Nokia have said owners who have experienced this problem with the joystick should take their device to Nokia repair centres, where their device will be given a new keymat. Gluing is also a bad idea as glue can get on the switch below, meaning the device can jam totally. Hope this will be of some assistance for those experiencing issues.

so DO NOT GLUE IT!
