Nokia N73 Jog Dial Falling off?

Ok this is the 1st dissapointment on my Nokia N73.. But oh well not a huge issue to worry about and can be fix..

Jog Dial just suddenly falls off.. Luckily it fell off on my bed and quickly found it.

Well my plan is putting a crazy glue on it..

Any suggestions before doing it?

Also the battery compartment is so tight! Its so hard to remove.. I had a hard time at 1st but got use to it.

I have heard someone who had this issue also with the jog dial falling off.

Anyone? Any experience?

I've had three N73s, two made by nokias and one made in finland.

On one of them, the backplate was EXTREMELY difficult to remove and im not exaggerating (made by nokia silver/plum model), while the other two were so much easier to remove, it was night and day.

My N73 back cover started out almost impossible to remove -- I thought it was going to break; it took me like five minutes! The last time was to remove the battery when the phone froze. Now I can get it off fairly quickly.

The battery cover is creaky though -- it doesn't slide around, but it doesn't fit tight; I can press on it, and that's when it creaks (as when using the keypad for anything).

Has anyone found a way to reduce this creak? Maybe put something in under the battery? I tried pressing that raised metal tab down, the one that holds the battery cover in place, but it didn't help. Made the cover seem more snug for about a minute.

Other than that (it's very distracting when composing txt messages), I am VERY happy with the N73. The call audio quality is much better than the e50, which I returned.

looks like I wasn't the only victim. I glued the joystick back on, and it navigates right and left and up and down fine, but when I press down on it, it moves randomly to another direction before and opens up something else(In the menu, when I try to push on gallery, it moves to let's say messaging or something else and opens that) Very annoying.....

mine has some play but I think this is normal....I just stuck my fingernail in it and tried to half heartedly pull it off and it feels solid. Mine is made by Nokia but I dont see how it can fall off if I tugged on it pretty hard. I've had mine for a month or so with heavy heavy use and it seems fine (joystick that is) the phone is creaky as a mofo up around the volume/zoom controls however, but it was that way out of the gate. I'm not worried though because it's up on the bay the second the n95 is available.

bump..

Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. I was drunk when it happened so I didn't notice until I woke up the next day.

Anyway, I ordered a new keypad to replace the joystick and got it a little while ago. I tested the joystick this time, and by only pulling a little, the damn thing came right off.

Apparently, the joystick is help in place only with glue. I used Krazy Glue to affix the new one, but it may be a good idea to check it every month or so.
