Nokia N71 menu not opening.

I'm having some problems with my N71 the menu wont open so I can't look at contacts text message or anything, I have tried soft resetting it and leaving it alone and having it fix itself but nothing has worked, any ideas?
 
The buttons work its when I use the option menus, like I'll go to ?memory card? in ?settings? and hit the options? and it will pop up but the second I select anything like ?back up phone memory? it locks up and all I can do is hit the end call button than in 3 minutes later it says ?application memory card closed?.
 
i think your memory card if faulty. i bought a crap memory card for my n73 and thats exactly what happened to me too, i went to exchange for a sandisk memory now it dont have hte problem. i'm not sure if i pinpointed your problem but it is highly likely that memory card is not good.
 
I formatted my memory card and everything seems too be working now so I think you were right. I'm going to start looking for a better card. Thank you, you saved my phone from being thrown against the wall.
