Nokia E65 Pictures and Information!

I smell fake. The specs have to be fake already. The screen not only looks narrow, like a QVGA screen should, but Nokia also abandoned the 352x416 screen resolution already. None of those buttons on the front screen even make sense either. I want new phones just as bad as the next guy, but I want new phones that are really made by Nokia.

i kinda doubt it too, coz E-series does not put leather on battery cover, this is for the 73xx/72xx series... so this could actually be an S40...

but take a look at the photo below... the one with a ? mark is much more of the E65, but then again pure speculations... this photo was taken from a nokia web site...

the e70 is the one on the front, the one on the right is a big ???? but then again, that could be a proto and the final design could be the one being shown as spy photos for the E65... anyways come CES, we will know for sure...

the only differences are that one has a vga camera on the front and the button layout is slightly different. you think this could be an n81 or something? like they did with the 668x?

^ cool PS work! i really should learn PS...

N81 or E81 for that matter... anything is possible... but that is very close indedd to N80, i was also thinking of E90, but then all communicators have a front normal cellphone keys...

Jeesh.. stop already about some presentation pic. No relevance to this thread and most likely an earlier scetch of the N80 anyway.

E65 is for real, let's focus on that. It is obviously not a response to Krzr - two completely different feature sets and target audiences.

Some initial thoughts:

Those extra buttons around the key pad apparently have to do with the VoIP function.

Nice specs in small package, relatively/very thin.

Funny/weird/potentially unconfortable looking grooves on the side of the keypad; otherwise not very exiting looking but that's usual for E series.. and that damned pop port connection again.. oh well

Can't have very long battery life if wifi is used a lot, but I gather corporate use and VoIP will for quite a while mostly take place in offices, so the charger is always near.

Basically the design seems the reverse of most thin sliders e.g. N95 or Samsung where the lid slides in an U shaped base, where as in E65 the lid is U shaped and the bottom part slides into it. The benefit seems to me to be that the keypad is easier to access; and when closed the "face" looks solid and had more space for function keys - I gather this phone can largely be operated in closed mode provided you have most number you call in contacts.

Given that there seems to be a dedicated conference call button or some such like (top left one next to navipad), and all the other VoIP stuff, I bet Nokia is trying hard to sell this to corporations as their "in office" phone to replace or at least complement land lines and desktop phones.

But overall not bad at all!
