Nokia E62 - Software update?

I see the E62 is listed here, http://www.nokiausa.com/support/software/softwareupdate/1,8838,,00.html. Has anyone updated their E62 yet and what does this update address?

Now, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but....

I just did the update and the menu lag seems significantly improved. I usually notice a -3 second lag when switching programs or going to a sub menu. I see it now in .40-1 secs. But don't quote me on it. Hopefully the java issue will also be addressed but i'm not counting on it. I'll check it later.

Yah I tried doing an update and there was nothing available? Then again I did just get the phone the other day...any ideas?

I got an E62 on Thursday at a Cingular store and updated it that night with a download from nokia.com. The *#0000# does not work for me. I get a "Requesting" message and then it fails. I don't know what it came with but the version of Nokia Software Updater is v1.1.27en

I have that same version of Nokia Software Updater and I have no avail updates for my E62.

I have a suspicion that Cingular has some models out there with older software than 2.06.18.06.17 thus we are seeing reports of updates available.

I got my e62 a day or 2 after it came out and they tell me there are no updates for my phone, so I don't understand how any phone purchased after mine would need any updates.

Probably because that store had units which older firmware than your store did...even thought you purchased before those people did.

i bought my e62 the day after it came out, i tried to upgrade but it said it was already up to date. but i went ahead and updated the phone anyways. it happens to be slightly faster, not really a night and day difference. maybe it removed some stuff that made it run slow, i have no idea.

So anyone who did the update, does this "new" version fix the lame Cingular Java App problem of asking to connect everytime it needs data?

I did the update and no change to the Java behavior!

My E62 is getting returned today for the following reasons:

1. Java apps prompt for network access each time
2. non-standard 2.5mm jack does not work with 3.5mm adapters or other headsets
3. Xpress Mail crashes all the time connected to my gmail account
4. IMAP client does not download message bodies
5. No Macintosh iSync support (I bought the nova media thing)
6. General sluggishness (it is no blackberry)
7. No camera
8. Won't connect to my in-car Nokia bt CARK112

The thing that is sad is it EVERYTHING else is awesome on the phone. I think I might try an N-series
