I cant find NO WHERE online or at best buy/comp usa head phones for the e62. I want to listen to some music on my phone with out using the speaker. Maybe someone has had better luck finding and using than me.

Thanks gregh2000...

Obviously everyone makes a lot of assumptions that a 2.5mm jack works like any jack. Unfortunately, stereo headphones or your standard ear-bud doesn't work...try it...

i have figured out how to get stereo out of it. you need a radio shack 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and the headset that came with the phone. what you do is plug in the regular headset, wait until the phone recognizes it, then very very quickly unplug it and plug in the adapter before the phone realizes you did anything. then plug in headphones to the adapter and enjoy. it seems to be in stereo too because i have music that starts on one side and goes full stereo after and it works great.

The palm "2-in-1 stereo headset", model 3185WW is fully supported by my E62. It has a 2.5mm plug with 3 insulator bands and works both as a stereo headphones and as a hands-free headset. I managed to spend almost $45 for it by buying it retail in NYC from a dealer who would agree to let me try it first, but you can get it online for less.

I can confirm that this works fine. Someday I'll take apart the headset that came with my phone and use my multimeter on it and figure out what exactly it is the phone is testing to decide whether or not it's an acceptable "enhancement." You probably just need some sort of resistor to simulate the mic and possibly the button and a 4 conductor plug.

glad to hear someone else got my trick to work, lol. yeah i am sure someone out there with some better electronics experience will be able to figure out exactly what is needed, lol.

Another point of interest: You can disconnect the headphones and the phone stays in headset mode and will continue to work with the regular stereo adapter as long as you leave the adapter itself plugged in.
