Hey guys, I was wondering if i can sync my Microsoft Outlook with Nokia E61? like all the client addresses, e-mails, calender entries, etc. Also, If I were to sync the Out look with the Nokia, will the TomTom software be linked to the address book ? and just select a clients name from the address book and just hit go to!! I have the HOLUX GR 236 GPS Bluetooth Receiver. Do you think its feasible?

thanks for the help

About the sync = Yes it?s possible to sync all content from Microsoft Outlook to E61 (except categories and e-mails).

About the other = Not sure. Don?t have a Tomtom.

Hi
as already stated Outlook is no problem and in Tom Tom it actually has an option look up contacts address which allows you to choose a contact and Tom Tom will use that address which is one of the reasons Tom Tom is my favourite Navigation solution and so happy TT6 is out and supports S60 3rd Edition.

I just received TomTom 6 software and have been unable to activate it on my E61 or E62. The TT6 software does not recognize any numbers on the keyboard, only letters during the activation process (activation requires input of a product code that includes numbers and letters). Same problem on both the E61 & E62. I also tried to activate it using a Nokia Bluetooth keyboard with the same results. No numbers are recognized.

I have a ticket opened with TomTom and with the seller, buygpsnow.com.

The blue function key does nothing with TT6 open. At least during the activation process. Whether or not the function key is pressed, only letters appear on the screen. As I previously reported, the same problem exists on both my E61 & E62. The function key / number keys work as designed with other apps, notes, e-mails, etc. Since I can't get beyond the activation process I don't know if there are any other issues with TT6 and the E61/E62.

Hi MobileAGBell,
That is a really strange problem especially as the E61 was actually the first S60 3rd Edition they calimed was supported. I really hope Tom Tom come back to you with a soloution it just semms so bizarre as they must of made it work when tested. Just a thought have you tried installing it through the Tom Tom home as although i don't use it that may offer a soloution luck.

If the activation code was all letters I might be able to activate it. But as long as the code includes numbers it cannot be activated. Even if the activation code was all letters I'm concerned that the number keys won't work within the application, such as when searching for an address. I don't know how the program could have tested since it doesn't work on my E61 or E62..

I'm very happy to report that my problem has been resolved. In order to input numbers on a Nokia E61 during the Tom Tom 6 activation process, you must press and hold down the blue function key while pressing a number key.

gucio24 previously replied with the solution "What if you hold down the blue function key and type numbers" but I had simply pressed (and released) the blue function key and then tried to type a number. Thanks for providing the solution. Sorry for not following it. And a big thanks to the tech support folks at www.buygpsnow.com for their help.

Hey quick question, does this application require a gprs connection? (Cause the rates in toronto are killer) and how much memory do you need on your mem stick for this app and the standard north american maps?

The TT6 application does not require a GPRS connection. I used it today on my E61 while in the offline mode.

The app takes about 3.6MB and the US & Canada map option require about 908MB. There are several map options on the DVD, including individual states, groups of states, regions, satellite view, language option, etc.

those individual states/regions are not possible on TomTom 6 i think, they were on TT5 but not on TT6 they said but i'm not sure,

Good thing about it is everytime you drive from state to state , it doesn't ask you to load or switch the maps like from Midwest to Southwest and all that crap, If you have the entire map of US and Canada in there, it navigates you automatically from state to state with ease

There are a number of individual states and regions available on the DVD. In fact, I loaded only the Midwest Region on my device since I had only a 512MB memory card at the time. Not every state is individually listed for loading, but are included in groups. As an example, Indiana is not listed individually but is listed in the following groups:

IL IN KY IA MO
IN OH KY WV
IN OH KY WV MD PA
MI IN OH
WI IL IN
and is included in the US Midwest Region

Me?

I wanted a Blackberry-capable device with better voice quality than my 8700C. The E62 was available through my Premiere account and included BB Connect software. I found the voice quality was much better on it than my 8700C. Then I decided I wanted a device with WiFi capability.

The TT6/E61 combo is replacing a Garmin/BMW Navigator GPS unit that I use in my company car. When I loaded TT6 on my E62 I discovered that the screen brightness was very dim. Perhaps a fluke, or something worse. Since I'm returning the E62, I didn't pursue the screen brightness problem.

Hi,

I have not had success holding down the blue control key with the E62. I was able to find the letter J, but unable to input any numbers other than a 1. Any thoughts? Nokia is of no help.

I was unable to activate TT6 on the E62 I had and I returned it. I was able to activate TT6 on an E61.

The buygpsnow.com site does not list the E62 as a compatible device with TT6. And I read somewhere recently that the E62 was not compatible with TT6. I'll try to find the link and post it later.
