How come the Nokia E50 is nowhere to be found at the nokia usa website, but the front picture has a guy with an E50????

Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile MDA: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320))

I'm gonna buy it when I travel again in Hong Kong in November
E50 should be a nice basic S60 phone, this reminds me the good old 63xx
this phone is soooooo good that every GSM service should not miss

wont appeal to americans though, they like their flippies. Im predicting not too many people will pick this phone, because its nokia, look at the 8801

wow, resurrected an old thread, anyway, the E50 is still nowhere to be seen on the USA website, seems like it will never come here at all

It is here....just not via Nokia. I recently went into the Nokia store in Manhattan and they told me it wont be sold to individuals (only via corporate contracts?).

But regardless, plenty of places have it around $300 (worth every penny!).

If that's the case I think Nokia is shooting itself in the foot, as the E50 is a great way to introduce s60 to people who may not want to shell out $500 and up for some of the N-series phones. But maybe they are waiting for Cingular or T-Mobile to pick it up in 2008.

The cheapest I saw the E50 was for $240, I believe, although the company neglected to say it actually wasn't in stock until several days after the order was placed!

I think thats one of the reasons this phone is so great ... its price. You can easily get one for under $300 (i've seen them for $269). But i really like the black trim and i can't find any ;[

Well, is there a vendor that I could purchase from and be assured it doesn't have Chinese characters on the keys? It seems that a lot of hofo's advertisers are hong kong shops and a lot of the posters here end up with asian phones. I'm really getting ready to buy this thing. I'd buy it directly from Nokia if they'd offer it, and I'd rather avoid getting a t-mobile version if possible, and besides, I don't want to wait any longer.

I ordered from wireless_experts on ebay.

Search "Nokia E50"
There are only 3 people on there selling e50s. They have great feed back and quick shipping. I think it costs about 300$.

I got mine from Import GSM. Black trim, Made in Finland, UK plug. A bit pricier than some other dealers, but i liked the instant gratification of being able to get it same day I made the decision to buy it.

i hope T-Mobile doesn't sell it. i like how exotic it is.
plus its a business phone. a regular Joe wouldn't know what to do with it or like it.
