Nokia 8801 or Motorola A1200 (aka Ming)??

Hi everyone, I'm new to this board and was wondering if I could get some help buying my next phone. Right now I'm kind of torn on whether to purchase the Nokia 8801 or the Motorola A1200. Looks wise I prefer the Nokia but I love Motorola's touch screen concept!

Any opinions? Rants or raves for either phone?

Thanks a lot!

If you're looking for style, go with the Nokia 8801. If you're looking for features, then go with the A1200. I say that the Nokia is too expensive for what little it does, and that the A1200 is a better choice (less of a hit on the wallet, too).

Hi,
Thanks so much for your input! I was thinking the same thing-for half of the 8801 I could get the A1200 and I met up with a guy from this forum that has this phone and he loves it. Plus, I would be so paranoid about scratching up the 8801.

Yeah, they're two vastly different phones, but I've got to agree, the 8801 is all show and no go really. The show sure is nice though.

I think the Ming has a similar "wow" factor simply because people who dont know phones, havent seen anything like it before (and it looks cool too).... and for more than $100 less than the 8801 at places like sugarpipe.com, I'd say you're getting a lot more bang for your buck. I'm thinking about getting the A1200 to replace my ageing and unstable treo 650, the only thing it lacks for me is the qwerty keyboard... It's got some great other feature though, I especially like the business card scanning feature... It's just cool to know you have it.
