Nokia 6682 Problem with SmartMovie, Searched Everywhere!

OK, trying out SmartMovie (version 3.00) for the first time on my brand new 6682. I converted a few MPGs using the converter and uploaded successfully. My problem is when I attempt to play the files, the screen goes white and the phone restarts. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, same thing.

When I play the smallest demo movie (67k or something), it plays fine. But the other demo (107k or something) and anything larger instantly restarts the phone.

Any suggestions/comment are gladly welcomed!!

(I posted on Lonely Cat Forums as well, but there's like 3 members over there so I'm hoping someone can help me here...)

I've used the trial version of SmartMovie to play 150MB+ movies on my 6682. For me, the program that won't play large files is "Mobile Media Player". If your PC can play the converted file, try downloading the trial version "DVDPlayer" to your phone and test the file. It might help to narrow your problem to the software or phone.

Maybe a better alternative to SmartMovie is just using the standard RealPlayer. After reading through these threads, and downloading and trying "Super", I've coverted video that plays very well through RealPlayer. Super's default video settings for Nokia, and changing the audio to the default "AAC" settings (which the 6682 supports), yielded excellent results. And as another poster pointed out, you don't have to load additional applications on the phone (not to mention paying for them). The only caveat I've found is that the PC you use for file conversion needs to have a fast processor (1Ghz?).

Good luck.

i convert them (rename them .avi, smartmovie only recognizes .avi files) using divx converter, "handheld" setting (since i use a mac, smartmovie converter wont work) and the files play without a problem on my 6682. Large files are fine.
