time to switch my old chocolate... and i was thinking about the 6300 for a long time.. so my question is to all 6300 owners, is it good? or is it bad?

and btw im wit fido so, most likely im gonna get a locked one

thanks

yeah...i just got this yesterday too..
but.... seem to be having trouble getting mp3 as ringtone...... i'm still searchin for a solution..
but if that doesnt really matter to u...
then go for it

i'm still testing it out rite now.... um... well i use bluetooth a lot...so thats probably draining it a bit too?

but so far... i think the batt life is tolerable.

Fido has locked MP3 ringtones and the email client (which is excellent BTW). You can skirt around the first issue by converting your sound files into WMA. That will work just fine.

The other option which would solve both issues would be to reset the phone to factory using NSS, thereby "debranding" your phone. This is not a SIM unlock, just gets rid of the carrier implemented software restrictions. NB: technically this voids probably your warranty, but I've never known most Fido reps to check for this sort of thing if you have an issue.

i've tried changing the files to wma. but it still says file is too large to be used.... would u know what size limit it has?

i still havent had time to go get a usb cable for it... but when i do...i will definitely try out debranding it....

****** actually ... i JUST tried making the wma files smaller than 500kb in size... n they actually work!!!!!! woohoo...

so i guess... if u're just lookin to get ringtones... simply convert it to wma ... keeping in mind the size thing....

You quite possibly already have a USB cable for it. It is just a standard mini-USB connector on the 6300, so any ol' USB to mini-USB cable will do. Most digital cameras use this connector, Sony PSP, many MP3 players (non-iPod), Motorola and BlackBerry cell phones, etc. I'm sure I've got 4-5 of them just lying around in my box o' cables.
