well....if you wouldn't be that lazy, you would probably read through this whole thread...and somwhere around page 4 you would find the complete solution which I posted. And if you would read on to about page 5, then you would see it again with some additional comments by the person who has it working too....

...sometimes it is usefull to read the tread you know.....

um, i've been trying this same diego thing on my nokia 6085, and it hasn't been working. when i install diego 3.06, or 3.00, it recognizes that a nokia phone is connnected but is unable to know what model it is or anything. plus, when i go to the phone settings tab, nothing shows up, no matter how long i let it sit there. here are the steps i took:
1. make sure none of the nokia drivers are installed.
2. install diego 3.06 or 3.0
3. (attach phone does not work so i install the nokia pc suite)
4. attach the phone
5. complain that it's still not working..

plz help if you can

I got this off of the Nokia wesbite, its the manual for your phone. Does that help?

Diego is needed to modify the programmimg in the Nokia 6265i from TELUS. After that if you have the MemCard in the phone, then transfer like it is a USB device. Other than that I will think it would be PcSuite to access the internal memory. Haven't tried it and probibly will try it. If it does work like that as well, let me know.

Eh....my problem is that my card is some weird pqi brand (never heard about it before) I got it dirty cheap on eBay, I guess it was my mistake. I did format it into FAT, FAT 32, but either way my cell doesn't want to see it. SO I guess I am going for a new card, and this one goes into my digital camera.

i am really lazy and i had to go soi didn't decide to look threw the pages

sorry for not lookinf:finger:

Thanks, but I need to know two things before I proceed.

1.) Can I do this with a Bluetooth dongle or does it have to be with the USB cable? I can't see the difference since they both are used to transfer data. What are your thoughts?

2.) I have a SanDisk mini card. What is an MMC card and is it necessary for this to work? The Nokia 6265i's manual says that it only supports SanDisk mini cards.

Thanks guys!
Oh, I also read in a different forum that the activation keys are unlocked on the Rogers network and that you can set MP3's and voice recordings as ringtones as you wish. Anyone else hear of this?

Tons of free games and apps: Free Java, Symbian, Palm and Pocket PC Software

cheers!

Drivers should come with Diego in instalation files, as for the transfer you can also use bluetooth to transfer files (you comp has to hav a bluetooth adoptor though)

Damn you telus.
I'm going to go Pacific Mall here in Toronto.
Get it unlocked, hopefully that will allow me to use my ringtones.

Now then. MP3's can be used as ring tones!! I have several, including audio clips from shows that I know for a fact are MP3's. The only difference in waterloo_rulz and myself trying this is I have Diego 3.07. I don't know if there is a difference. From what I see there is none in the directrions that he provides to do it work the same as I had done them. I also know that through Diego you can do the mobile Java games too. You do need the cable for the phone. You also need a memory card for this too. I personally have the 1GB SanDisk MiniSD card. The only reason I didn't go cheap on this was cause my boss bought it for me. You can keep the card in the phone if you would like to. When you hook up the cable to it, just say no to using it as a storage device. Then it dumps it into "Data Enchancement Mode". Then load Diego. Should give you the lovely tones in XP (Pro SP2). Then follow the directions as quoted. The only quirk that I had found after all of this. (Which had included using the "Safely Remove Hardware" after closing out Diego.) I had to pull the battery after seeing the screen go black with no light and displaying "Local Mode". After I pull the battery, everything is fine. This works!

Net step after this is a YouTube vid to demonstrate. Coming out soon.

BTW, the reason you need the Memory card is to transfer the MP3's into the phone. You cannot access the phone's memory directly through USB. Put the tunes on there, then transfer them out. Put it into either music or Tones. As long as it resides in the phone memory, not the MiniSD. Cause once your phone "thinks" that your memory card is not in your phone, it will flip that neat MP3 ringtone back to the Nokia Tune as default.

hi there !!!

even i bought the nokia 6265i under telus !!! and facing the same ringtone prob . did u figure out some way to get past this...activation keys..

EH i need a bit more help too

Hello everyone, thanks for all the postings in this informative thread, I do have some concerns though.

I am looking at a data cable on ebay, and it doesn't look quite right, can someone check the image to verify that it is the right one for this phone?

data cable

And to clarify, this will simply enable the phone to use MP3's as ringtones? Even ringtones I have received from another phone via bluetooth? (I took some ringtones off my brother's RAZR, who is a Rogers customer)

Thank you all for your assistance. :)

When i attempt to load the diego software it says " Unable to locate a dongle. Exiting Application..." Anyone had this problem or know what i did wrong. I ahve my phone connect with the usb cord and i can transfer music but i need to chnge that setting to use them as a ringtone.

The cable looks correct. I would say that it does the job. Mine is a little different, mine has more pins. And with Diego it will enable any and all mp3s. Even the ones from your bro's RAZR. I personally use audio clips from shows like "Drawn Together" and turn those into mp3s for ringtones. (It's from the imbred retard episode in the 3rd season. The clip is of Captain Hero taking off but stops to snort some good stuff. Willing to share if anyone would like a copy.)

I am also still seeding the torrent, along with 6 others now. (At time of post) If you need a copy, the link is above, or on the bottom of the 7th page.

Good luck, and happy moddin'

Yea i tried that but it does not give you the option of setting a password for the memory card cause it doesnt show it in the gallery, and there are no general gallery options.
Thank you for your help though its much appreciated. And if you find out something new just let me know. I'm in no rush at this time to really go and get another memory card, i'll try and battle this one to get it to work. Again thanks for the help.
