Hi-

I've seen several websites that indicate that the Nokia 6080 operates, or can, operate on the 850 band. Is this correct? If so, does anyone know where I can get one that operates on the 850mHz band (along with the 1800/1900)?

Thanks,
Seth

nokia 6080 don't have a 850mhz frequecy, it has 900mhz and i don't think you can find that have the 850mhz.

Acually it depends on what model 6080

* GSM tri-band 900/1800/1900 or 850/1800/1900
* Automatic switching between bands

i know what are you trying to say. some phone model have u.s version and european version. let say nokia 1100. the u.s version is 850mhz, 1900mhz. and the european version is 900mhz, 1800mhz. the nokia 6080 have only one version. uk version that's why the frequency is 900mhz uses in asia, 1800 use in europe and 1900 use in the u.s, canada, and mexico.

There are two version of this phone in the market one is the euro/asian which has 900/1800/1900 and the other is the Us version 850/1800/1900 from what i've seen. The only prob is cant find the us version with the 850 band any where.

if the 850 band is build into the phone it might be possible to flash it. thats a solution i've heard being used on the L6 to make it quadband.

^ I think that only pertains to Motorolas. Certain models are essentially quad band, but are restricted to tri band when it comes to different regions. They can be flashed to enable quad band, even EDGE connectivity.

Unless Nokias are stated as quad band, they are tri band with Europe/Asia (a) and US (b) variants.
