nokia 5800 internet not working?

my nokia 5800's internet no longer works, and when i use either 02 wap services, or use a wifi hotspot, and open web browser or facebook, it just reverts back to the main screen. it may be because i downloaded a bad app, but i was wondering if it is a common problem, and if there is a way of fixing it? thanks
