I have a Nokia n82 and love the camera and the gps, but it sucks for texting and I'm doing much more of than when I bought it and so I need something that can do a qwerty keyboard. I'm looking at either a Nokia 5730, which looks to have a very nice keyboard, or an X6 (16 GB), which has a capacitance touchscreen.

My primary uses for the phone will be texting, talking, GPS navigation, and as a backup camera. I'll occasionally use it for music (although if the music player on either is considerably better than on the n82, it may be used for that a lot). I also have an ipod touch, so I likely won't be using either on the web very much, especially since I don't have a data plan.

What I want is a phone with a solid gps that get's a fast lock w/o a data plan, that has a moderately good camera (it need not be excellent, but I like being able to take reasonable pics when I'm not carrying my digital camera), and which allows me to text easily on a real or touchscreen keyboard. The free music on the 5730 is a nice additional draw, but isn't enough of one if the x6 is a sufficiently better phone. So, which sounds more like it would meet my needs and why?

I think nokia 5730 s the best one... My uncle also used this mobile unlock codes.. I got my mobile unlock codes from here mobileunlocksolutions.com/ @ lowest costs..

I think 5730 pretty much has everything you are looking for although X6 has better camera quality. But IMHO, I guess 5730 wins as an overall package over the X6 plus since you are concerned about texting then 5730 has a standard keypad + a side slide QWERTY to take care of the problem.

I think Nokia 5730 is suits you. It is nice mobile almost all the features include in it full qwerty keyboard, 3.15 MP camera, Symbian operating system and many more. For more info click 5730 | Best Mobile Phone | Mobile Phones latest news, tips and reviews

You may choose X6. X6 is the first XpressMusic handset to head straight for the high-end.
