Noisy fish tank filter?

Ughh the power went out and it just came back on and now my tank's filter (the hang on the back kind, the motor) is making this extremely annoying *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* noise, and I can't sleep. It was perfectly fine before so I don't know why it's making this noise now.

Is there anything I can do to make it go away?? Like it's 5 AM and there's no way im gonna be able to sleep now so I'm def willing to buy a new filter in the morning need be.
 
Its possible it no longer will work. Chck the motor and the propeller to see ifi ts turning and working. Im up also, sucks when the power goes out.
