21 years old, taking 6 weeks of norflaxacin at the moment for suspected chronic prostatitis. I'm on day 38 of 42 now, and its difficult to say whether they have had any real effect. Generally my prostate area does feel a little bit more comfortable but only in the last week or so, but my urethra is still red (which was the initial problem). However, a few days ago I woke up and my heart was pounding, not particularly fast but my heartbeat was much more noticeable than usual.
I have had this a few years ago and in fact had a number of ECGs carried out, but doctors never found a cause for it, and it went away. I thought it might be due to university - coursework, and exams coming up. I thought I might be a bit anxious about those. However I have just read the leaflet for the tablets I am taking and it says "very rarely heart palpitations, pounding, nervousness etc." I am thinking it is perhaps due to the tablets.
As I only have 4 days left should I just stop taking them? As the heart thing is a little irritating. I do have a urology appointment in about 10 days anyway, so far I have only seen a GP. I am wondering what to do ...
Thanks!
