it annoys me... young people driving around in really loud cars with huge tailpipes that don't match the car at all, playing their music really loud so that the piece of shit rattles and shakes... i saw a "punk-ass" kid driving a cavalier today... message to him:

first, you're not cool cause you have a cavalier (no offence to any of you who drive them, i just don't like them)
second, you're not cool cause you're cavalier's loud.
third, you're not cool cause you put a pipe with a 10 inch diameter on your cavalier, so that it doesn't fit and it looks like shit.
and last... you're not cool cause you think you're cool.

when i see those kind of people, the first thing i think of is:

then there's those fins... those godawful fins... you know... the ones that stick 5 feet up out of your trunk... very few cars can get away with that and actually look nice... yours can't. end of story.
 
I decided a while back that I was going to take my '91 Tercel, sand it down to the primer and then put ground effects and a whale tail on it then put a big fatty decal across the rear windshield that says "Poser". Anybody who doesn't get the joke gets a fist in the teeth. Anybody who tries to tell me that my car sucks, doesn't get the joke and gets a fist in the teeth. Anybody who tries to race me while driving the Poser-mobile gets their tires shot out and then a fist in the teeth.
 
I used to ride along with a friend who street raced in her (stock) VW Beetle. The old kind. We beat a lot of idiots that just have cold air intakes and don't know how to drive, but we got totally whipped once by a civic with a turbo.

Street racing is fun... and having a nice car is too... just don't kill yourself doing it.

As for ricers (a street racer's term for somebody with a crappy car with lots of flash, has no correlation to being of asian descent), yeh, they're not cool... but they're a by product of the after market parts industry, which has had extremely rapid growth lately.

Car people are in heaven :thumbsup:
 
lol, when you mentioned the idiot with a cavalier, I thought it was my friend for minute..you know, the one I accidently backed into

But yea I hate how some people will totally try to make their car look cool, but then they don't have the engine to back it up

But as for me, I have an extended cab on my truck, so the subwoofer makes everything louder without all the extra space like in cars...but I've done some stuff to the engine as well, plus other things on the outside like a tonno cover, these days I got to save gas and it really does show, plus people stopped jumping into the back of it..I want a new exhaust next
 
yea dude...I need an oil change soon though..that drive to texas really did some work on it

For the record, I hate spinner wheels as well. I like sleepers, cars that go fast but don't look it.

My dream car is a Jetta... the VR6's are pretty damn nice. Swap in a Vortech, lower it on eibachs, and on Konig wheels... that would go.

1) my daily driver has a good system in it, but the sub box is NOT PORTED and thus almost NO sound gets out when i blast it with the windows up. i'm not a "hey look at me" fag. i do, however, like listening to loud, decent quality music in my own little portable cone of silence.

2) my race mustang, which just blew out a muffler last week, has been switched over to straight pipes with resonators. no mufflers at all. it's insanely loud, to the point where i could get a ticket driving it. but now at least it breathes correctly.

the problem is when a car is more sound than fury.

I wish I was old enough to drive/wealthy enough to afford having a nice car. Right now, I'm looking at a '98 CRV as my first car... That's a chick magnet if I ever saw one.

What year is your mustang? Mustangs were my favorite car from when I was 7 until I was about 12. A '64 1/2 notchback was always my dream...
