no way?! hard drive problem with vista?

SO i just installed vista on to my main hard drive after a few attempts and i regret it so far? Now my back up hard drive barely runs. It takes like 2 hours to look at any of my old vids, pics, and music. anyone figure out this problem? my system is running 3ghz, 2 gbs ram, and nvidia 7800 gt

Look in device manager. I'm thinking driver issues with your IDE/SATA controller and/or system board.

I have a network drive, flash drives, and an external USB2.0 hard drive and have not experienced any such problems. Has to be an issue with your particular setup. See if you can find updated chipset drivers through the manufacturer or Windows Update.
