No transmission experts around where I live that will give me any info for

free, can anybody help? Jeep ZJ? 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. 5.2l engine, 46RH transmission.

Transmission was rebuilt last February (2008)

Truck didn't go into OD when I got it. Still doesn't.

One day while on the highway the Jeep tried to go to OD to my surprise. Since then it hasn't shifted right. These are the symptoms:

- 1 to 2 upshifts fine usually
- 2 to 3 upshift is soft, feels like it engages, then releases, then engages again. The engine revs to a higher RPM then it used to before attempting to shift.
- Will not downshift into a lower gear until almost at a full stop.

I've been given a few tips as to what it may be, but I'm looking for some other feedback. Possible OD solenoid AND governer solenoid? Valve body?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
well other than making sure it has the proper tranny fluid and amount of fluid it is really hard to say. if it was atleast a 96 i would say bring it to an advance autoparts store for a obd2 diagnostic it would atleast tell you if there was any thing electronic wrong since it would most likely be an electronic controlled tranny come 96. but being a 93 it is alot harder without doing a full indepth inspection which is not free and not cheap.
