No text messaging in Chicago???

I have the unlimited plan and the $5 travel time add-on. I travel all over the country and have never had a problem with SMS texts (incoming or outgoing) even when my travel time runs out, until this past week in Chicago. I recently switched my plan from the "old" $45 unlimited plan to the new $50 plan with service in all Cricket markets and updated the PRL when I switched. When I got to ORD last week, my travel time worked fine for incoming and outgoing calls, but I just could not send or receive any texts at all. I used SMS sucessfully in Chicago this past summer... What's going on? I'll be in Orlando this weekend and I sure hope it works there. Anyone have any ideas?
 
umm you shouldn't need a new prl for the $50 plan, only for travel time. also sms on travel time is supposed to be $0.10 each, but i think until recently it kept working even after you were out of funRAB in your flex bucket.
 
try dialing *228.....it will reprogram your phone. Wait untill complition, then try sending a txt. The OTAP will upload anything new and possibley fix any problems...
 
So I'm in Orlando now, and my SMS messages work just fine. I ran out of travel time last night and the texts still keep coming and going. I made sure to update the PRL with *228 before I left Phoenix yesterday... it took two tries... odd. We'll see what happens next weekend in Boston!
 
Apparently I can send and receive texts from all kinRAB of different carriers while 'roaming' EXCEPT Cricket... When I landed in Phoenix Sunday night and I turned on my phone, I was greeted with two text messages sent to me Saturday night from my buddy here with Cricket... and the test message I sent myself at 4pm EST Saturday from the Cricket website. So strange!
