NO SPOILERS!!!-the next BATMAN after TDK which villian??

above so true

i cant wait to watch begins and DK backto back.

they could blend into one whole 4hr epic movie.

yes i seen it last nite loved how it ended too not the traditional superhero movie endin which was cool and different.

obviosly a problem now is weather the whole crew comes back.
if it happens ill be happy but if it dont im happy with how these two movies went.

if nolan is tired and not given his own way over bat3 i think it will be ruined much like rami with spidey3

You really can't use that movie to judge the character. That movie wasn't even about the proper Catwoman, Selina Kyle (Thank God!) and it was just taking the best ideas from Batman Returns and screwing them up. Batman Returns is a better way to appreciate the character. Noland would go back to basics, forget al lthe nine lives, re-birth stuff and make her a simple cat burgler.

Catwoman: Michelle Pffeifer was brilliant and maybe unsurpassed, Hale Berry was awful. Berry lacked the mixture of allure and danger that is essential to the role. Whoever you cast in this role has to have those two qualities of sexiness and dangerousness. Angelina Jolie has those qualities but she has a bit of a masculine side which does not fit, though. Hard to think of an actress who could pull it off.

Harley Quinn: IMHO This character could work brilliantly in Nolan's Batman universe. Harley enables continuity with the Joker (if he had no influence or reference in the third movie it would be odd considering his importance). Has enormous potential. With the right actress could be awesome.

Poison Ivy: Perhaps a criminal with an extreme environmental agenda and extremely manipulative. Hates humans as a species and only likes plants.

Riddler: Could work brilliantly. As earlier poster said, would work best if his identity was a mystery for most of the movie (kind of like Keyser Soze in the Usual Suspects), the problem is thats unfeasible in a big budget blockbuster, especially if its a big star involved. David Hyde Pierce would be my choice.

Nothing personal, but I don't think a lot of the suggestions fit at all with Nolan's 'reality' based Batman films.

Bane - a character with no semblance of reality.
Mr Freeze - as a character again not possible for a 'real' human

Nolan is interested in presenting real human villains. In BB he took the immortality of Ra's Al Gul from the comics and eluded to it as being a 'cheap parlour trick' rather than actual immortality.

For me the ones who could work are:

The Penguin - could work, if they go back to the original comic interpretation as a funnier sub-plot villain for some lighter moments. Oh and loose the ridiculously long nose.
The Riddler - I would love to see what Nolan would do with this character after seeing the Joker

But I have to agree with SteveOwen, Catwoman is the easiest to adapt for the the Nolan world of Batman. It also makes sense. They could go back to the skilled catburgler interpretation. she wouldn't even need some flashy costume, just black leather or combat, boots and a hood that resembles cat ears. I think she could work very well.

As the OP has requested no spoilers all I will say only this, search the web for David Goyer interviews as he has already revealed who the main villain will be in Batman 3. I think you can find it on Superhero hype.

The genuine possibilities:

Catwoman
The Riddler
Black Mask

Possibly some others. Nolan's said on record that he doesn't want to use the Penguin as he doesn't see much appeal in a gangster that looks like a bird.

Personally if it's Catwoman, I really don't think it'll be your Angelina Jolie type. Nolan would tend to pick someone like Kate Beckinsale.

I really could see the Black Mask character being used as the ruthless gangster businessman.

Now I haven't seen "Catwoman" so I can't pass any judgement on it so instead I'll just ask was it really that bad or is it one of those bandwagon "everybody must hate" Flim?

Come on people, be honest:D!

I agree with the posters above who think that 'The Penguin' could really fit into the Nolan interpretation of Batman. It would be interesting if the Penguin filled the role of Falconi or Maroni from the previous Batman films, making this angle seem more prominant... However if they did intend to bring the Penguin in, then the casting would have to be perfect - I'd suggest Michael Emerson (LOST's Ben, Saw I). I think he would bring something very sinister to the role.

If they brought in Harley Quinn (and I think that has become a possibility since cutting Sarah Dunn's Harley Quinn from the second movie), it should be as a copy cat to the Joker, which could work really well if she were the second villain. Obsessed with releasing the Joker and commiting copy-cat crimes... in fact they could make her an Arkham psycologist who the Joker has turned mad.

I really don't know who the main villain would be though.

The role that Sarah Dunn was playing in TDK was greatly exaggerated by the British press, from Catwoman to Harley Quinn. She was only ever meant to be what she appeared on screen, a nameless girl on the arm of Maroni.

Totally agree with you about Michael Emerson.

Sorry if I am missing your point, but you comment reaRAB to me as if you are questioning why Ledger couldn't return as the Joker given his performance was so good. Please tell me you are kidding? The Joker might return but as played by someone else.

To be honest im not sure why they seem to be totally ruling out using the joker again, it is clear the joker is not finished. I know there would be uproar if he was re-cast, but i personally wouldnt mind especially if it was a small part at the start to wrap up his story.

As on the other post, I don't think this villain really fits into Nolan's realism based Batman. Can you see them going from realistic human villains to a character like Killer Croc? I think the audience would find it hard to swallow. But the ventriloquist is a great suggestion.

Yep. If you want an actress to play a black leather-wearing anti-hero, go for Beckinsale.

It's already been made public that it's going to be Johnny Depp as The Riddler, so no point in debating about it anymore. Which would probably have been the case if Tim Burton had carried on directing them rather than passing the buck over to Joel Schumacher anyway.
They may introduce a secondary character, and if they do, it probably will be Catwoman.

I always thought Robin Williams should have played The Riddler in the nineties, rather than Jim Carrey. But it wasn't to be.

Howzabout Arnie as Mr Freeze? That'd be good...

Nah, the Joker neeRAB to be laid to rest now. Ledger nailed the part and anyone else taking the role would just not live up to expectation. Besides, we've been treated to a superb Joker-themed Batman, let's see some new villains. It's boring when a Superhero is just fighting the same guy over and over.
