When i said out of nowhere i didn't mean out of obscurity! I meant someone who wasn't generally that well known and not a 'big name' actor. Keep your pants on lol :p
 
I reckon he'd work well. It's the right mood for these new Batman films.
Plus he was in Batman Begins and there's a bit where he
stabs Alfred but it turns out he's still alive, so his 'count' is off by one. I reckon Micheal Caine could do that well

I caught that line too, and although it may have been intended as a throwaway line at the line, it would still be a good idea to get Catwoman in.
 
Nice idea, but they would have to make sure that his actual name Edward Nigma is also not used until the end. So the character who is really the Riddler would have to have a third name that is used in the film.

As I previously said, Goyer has stated who he wants to use as the main villain, but I won't post it as a spoiler in this thread as the OP asked for no spoilers.
 
Harley Quinn should appear in some form, not right from the begining but certainly appear from no where (like the joker) with revenge on the mind.

The riddler would be cool to see (obviously done right) Empire said they wanted to see Casey Affleck in the role which upon thinking it about a bit could be very cool!! David Tennant said he would like to be the riddler which again you can think about being rather interesting as he certainly could do the crazy side to him.

Personally id love to see Black Mask appear apprently Jonathan Nolan had him in the original draft for TDK but was removed totally so i would love to see him appear.

Of course Two Face should return.
Due to the fact i would not want to see all of them in one movie (way to many villians for one movie) i would narrow down to seeing The Riddler as the main villian with Black Mask as the side villian. That would be my choices but i know it wont happen as Two Face has to/will return. :)
 
It's not Nolan's decision ultimately. If he doesn't think he can make a third one, Warner Bros are guaranteed to continue without him. No way will they consider missing money from a potential sequel to the biggest movie in 11 years.

Totally. I think she'd be a great foil to Bale's Batman. The chemistry between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle would be great, it could be much more lustful than his doe eyed love for Rachel.

As Batman, Bale has shown us a scary, angry vigilante who wants to do nothing more than instill fear in the criminals. But Catwoman would really screw with his mind. Also, as TDK has bascially left us with a Batman who will be dreaded by the public even more, his treatment of Catwoman for her crimes might go some way to reversing this.

Well there you go, 3 is never a good number!

Examples: Godfather Pt 3, Spiderman 3, Terminator 3, Pirates of the Carribean 3, Shrek 3, Matrix Pt 3, etc the list in endless!

Inevitably there probably will be a sequel but if there isn't then most folk should be happy with BB and TDK together. I certainly am! :)
 
Any villains anyone particularly wants to see? After watching some of Gotham Knight last night, I wouldn't mind seeing DeaRABhot, maybe. As a side villain.
 
I could see, if Nolan introduced Hush, that he'd merge the character with Henri Ducard/Ra's Al Ghul. I don't think people would expect to see Liam Neeson as Hush, but it could work.
 
All this speculation is pointless.

The fact of the matter is that it will be at least A YEAR before an announcement of any kind is made - whether it be a confirmed sequel or actors attached to a sequel.

Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Johnny Depp blah blah blah!
All those rumours is just made up gossip.
 
Lucius Fox makes comment that the new bat suit is "cat-proof" when Bruce asks about how resiliant it is to dogs.

I do like the idea of the Riddler in the shadows - maybe they could plan for 4 films, with Riddler being setup for the 4th and the 3rd being some other villian but with mysterious traps being planted everywhere. It is assumed by everyone (and the audience) that the main villian is behind the traps, but the dning reveals for us that Riddler was behind it all along.
My money goes on Coleman Reese - an alreayd established character.
