NO SPOILERS!!!-the next BATMAN after TDK which villian??

OK! I'm going to try and put an end to all this "Johnny Depp" rumour once and for all by instead suggesting someone else who I'm actually quite surprised no one has even mentioned yet because he's practically offered himself on the plate to Nolan.

And that person is...

DAVID TENNANT AS DE BRAND NEW EVAL RIDDLER:D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(:eek:Red-Eye gets hit with a Frying Pan:eek:)

:oI think I'll shut up now:o.

Edit:

Seriously though I do actually think he'd be quite good:).

Peronsally, I would like a less mad-villain, less charismatic. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed TDK, but I would rather have had some more time on Bruce/Batman than the Joker. BB was more about watching Batman piece things together and then the big reveal...I vaguely missed that this time around. I also agree that I would like someone more unusal as the actor, and I would like a less well-known, human villain. Please dear god no Johnny Depp! I'd hate to have to take my seat surrounded by teenage girls constantly proclaiming their love for him.

My vote goes to Black Mask, personal vendetta against Bruce Wayne (chance for Christian to brood again - love that!) and even the added threat then to Alfred and Lucius. I reckon it could work. I know that the franchise is supposed to get better but I hope they don't pack it with villains. Just one reall good one would do for me. After all, when the next movie starts he's already going to have enough problems on his plate the way TDK enRAB!

Er, yes he does. Nolan neeRAB a name actor who can give a performance that's even half as good as Ledger's Joker for the next Batman movie or else everyone is gonna write it off as a disappointment and the franchise will go into freefall.

Nolan really has to come up with the gooRAB on the next one.

^^

Bullsh*t! He plucked Heath Ledger out of nowhere and look at the fantastic performance he gave us as The Joker. He can do it once, trust me he can do it again! You really underestimate Nolan's intelligence don't you lol.

Once again, he doesn't need Depp (aka a big name star). End of.

It's made for a third, but not for a fourth.

It's like Star Wars:

First episode: Good guys triumph over evil.
Second episode: Bad guys gain ground back by coming back stronger.
Third episode: After the toughest battle of all, good triumphs over evil again.

Do not confuse this with Episodes 1, 2 and 3 of the Star Wars series. That would go like this:

Episode I: Big floppy-eared, annoying prick pisses everyone off.
Episode II: Big floppy-eared, annoying prick is in the background and not involved with the main characters, as the director has listened to fans.
Episode III: "Hey! Where's that big floppy-eared annoying prick?"

I really like Harley Quinn too but if she has to appear then she has to be with The Joker which very sadly will never happen now I don't think:(.

And as much as I like Poison Ivy (The Animated Series one that is, the Film version doesn't exist to me) I really don't think she'll fit in the new version.

I wonder if The Mad Hatter could work though? I'm not really sure. Probably won't:o.

I actually thought while watching TDK that they were just going to introduce Two-Face, only up to the point where he gets disfigured, and then set him up as the Big Bad for the third installment. I was a bit disappointed when they tied up all the loose enRAB (nearly all) at the end.

Nolan has said that they made no plans for a third movie but with the huge success of this one they are going to have to make another. I suppose they could throw a lot of supervillians together to oppose Batman and have a massive fight to the death!

That Zsasz guy looks absolutely perfect for a main villain. He does seem very dark though, so would need a more known side villain, I'm thinking Catwoman.

Zsasz could take centre stage for the main part, with Catwoman sidelined at the beginning, kinda like 2Face in TDK. Could see news reports of Zsasz ending with "After the break another high profile burglary" headlines on newspapers etc relating to a cat burglar who of course is involved somehow with Bruce, the involvement with the intention to burgal Wayne Manner which gives us the reveal moment of Bruce coming face to face with the "Cat Burglar" no Cat ears or latex like Returns though, an eye mask and leather outfit would do, enough to disuise her identity.

johnny Depp would be ace as the riddler though, would love to see that.

To an extent yes, then again most of the villains are a little out there. Black Mask can be toned down however, which you can't really do with The Riddler et al. I think (now that I'm on the topic) the thing with the Joker is that, as an audience everyone kinda liked him (or at least the cinema I was at!) I don't think that would happen with Black Mask, at least as much anyway. I don't think there'd be much chuckling when he was on the screen, more of this

Out of nowhere? WTF are you talking about? Ledger had just done Brokeback Mountain and had previously shone in a series of low budget flicks.

The Dark Knight really upped the ante with the Batman franchise and it's more than likely they can't top it so Nolan neeRAB a real name who can give a career defining performance for the next Batman flick and Depp, on paper, is someone who could do that.

Not sure about that. Any of the villains can be interpreted as manical or tame as they like. The Riddler could be made into a menacingly intelligent villain. I'm not keen on the latest cartoon version 'The Batman' as it has ruined a lot of the villains, but they have done the Riddler very well.

That's exactly how I felt. Having Two-Face become mutilated, get angry, leave the hospital, cause a few upsets and then Goodnight Vienna is hardly the thing of legenRAB. He didn't even have time to sew himself a outrageous costume. :D

Johnny Depp isn't confirmed by any means. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is rumoured to be in talks to play the penguin too, doubt they'll both happen.

The Mad Hatter would work if they stuck with the 'realism' aspect and followed the Haunted Knight/animated series version where he's a creepy dude who kidnaps girls. Since Barbara Gordon appeared in TDK, they can expand on her character and make her the victim.

Killer Croc is in the Gotham Knight DVD, where it is explained that he's got a skin condition and was subject to the Scarecrow's experiements, making him insane and filing his teeth razor sharp.

Poison Ivy would work nicely as a mob hitman/serial killer

It's making too much money for there not to be another film, but I doubt Nolan is going to want direct one any time in the next 3 years. The third in a sequence is always the one that seems to tank creatively, if not always financially, and the loss of Ledger has greatly disrupted whatever plans Nolan might have originally had.

You're right. This one has already made so much money that even if Nolan doesn't return they will most likely find someone else to take over the reigns. And I don't want that happening. So I hope he'll come back, try to avoid the curse of the 3rd movie and finish the trilogy off in style. Obviously Ledger dying has thrown a huge spanner in the works but I still don't want Joker to be recast in the next one.

Someone on another forum came up with an idea that if they use The Riddler, they could keep his identity a secret throughout most of the film so that Batman and the audience has to try and solve the riddle of who he is. I thought that was interesting. I think Riddler works best like that, when he's on the sidelines, pulling the strings. But then obviously they'd need another villain to or two to keep us occupied throughout. And for that to work they'd probably have to cast a relative unknown in the part. Because if someone like...Johnny Depp joined the cast to play a new employee at Wayne Enterprises, it wouldn't exactly be tough to work out what was really going on.

Now you explain how they did Killer Croc in Gotham Knight it wouldn't be too much a stretch from reality. I like the fact the Scarecrow's fear toxin plays a part in his madness. This could easily fit with the established story. Killer Croc could have been one of the Arkham inmates who was released by Ra's and affectred by the Scarecrow's toxin released on the island. I think there was a plan for the Joker to have been driven crazy by the toxin, given he was released from Arkham during that raid. That would be an interesting thing, the Scarecrow helped to create the Joker, who in turned helped to create Two Face.

I get your idea about Poison Ivy, but it really wouldn't be the character without some plant connection, just a hitwoman with the name Poison Ivy.
