The bike fired up and ran after a few turnovers. I assume it took a while for the gas to get to the injector and prime the cylinders. I ran it for 30 seconds then shut it down. Had a little pushrod/valve noise so may have to readjust them. The recommended adjustment for the pushrods is three to four turns, and I just went three. After startup tomorrow if there is still some clatter, then I'll adjust them out to 3 1/2 turns. I'm getting really good at that. I'm not sweating the stock rocker cover bolts. If someone ever notices, then that must mean that they really liked the engine. Haha I'll fix it when I do paint next summer. Wont cost me a dime since I have the gaskets already from the chrome engine kit. I shaved a 1/4 inch allen wrench, but it didn't do the trick and I didn't want to risk a misthread. The problem with chrome bolts is that they are chromed all the way down the threads, so they are a tighter fit than stockers. I'll order the tool from debrix and do it right.
BTW, the bike sounds awesome. Can't wait to get done with the heat cycles, adjust the pushrods if needed, and run it through the gears. I got an appointment for tune the 9th of September at the dyno difference in dallas.
Thanks for all the help. I'll buy you guys a beer if I ever see you, but you'll have to introduce yourselves by your hdforum names or I won't know it's you. haha
ride safe
