No Recession for Millionaires as Income Inequality Continues to Increase

Oh our mexican came back today to work on the land. He's a legal worker (non resident). He makes 100 bucks a day doing labor.
 
I'll just save this little nugget just in case you decide to make a post on how the recession is "hurting you".
 
That's fine. Ive made statements to this before.

When I finish law school I plan on not working for another year and finding the job that is right for me. I'll continue to pay capital gains and support myself.

I'm debating taking 6 months and just taking vacations after I pass the bar.
 
Well I mi misspoke. He doesn't work the entire week here. 2 days. 10-4ish. He clears brush, cuts cactus. He's done such a great job for the past 13 years that there is little left for him to do. The guy actually probably makes well above US poverty and sends it all home to mexico while his daughter is a legal nurse here. (I assume he lives with her but I don't know)

He might to near nothing day to day but if he's done well by the end of his time here (before he goes back to mexico) it's fine.

He's a strong worker. We don't let him use the tractor as that's a 50k$ piece of equipment and translation from english to spanish is a little weak.


EDIT: I don't guarantee his number of hours. I swear some days he came at sunrise and left at noon last year. Again it doesnt matter that much. It's more of a "we want this done" If he does it in 1 day then that's a day's pay. If he does it in 1 hr and leaves the it's still the same.
 
This is almost exactly how I manage the guys who work for me. They are all educated, skilled individuals. Monday morning I lay out what needs to happen this week. I don't go looking for them. i don't care if they are in the office or at home. If everything I need from them shows up in my inbox before i need it, they all get bonuses and raises each year. If it doesn't show up, neither does their paycheck.
 
Yeah. This guy grew up in Mexico to the best of my knowledge. Is not a US citizen. His daughter grew up here (I don't know the means of her citizenship. For all I know her mom was a US citizen by birth or she immigrated legally and anything between, not my concern)

The guy does hard work. We report his payment to the government as per legal rules and he comes and goes. He does good work and our transactions are legal. He may or may not be skilled beyond manual labor and may have no education.


Never have hired an illegal and never would. I'm sure he likely feels the same way. He took the steps to become legally here so all the better. He probably also makes more money than other mexican citizens by being honest and doing a good days work.
