i find that certain fields are not affected by the recession like others are. anything internet related is booming right now.

if you lack certain skills in the fields with more demand for workers, it'll be harder for you to get a job or become a millionaire.

WOAH WOAH WOAH

so the same person that made a few million last year did it again while the person that lived on unemployment did that again also.

NO FUCKING WAY. FIX THE SYSTEM

The poor people should of made what the millionaire did this year and vica versa

Hey guys I have no skills, the recession is killing me

Hey guys I have a lot of skills and get paid to use them. I'm not worried about a 15% increase in grocery prices.

I got a GED and can't handle big business fucking me over by charging me 11 cents per egg

I went to school for 10 years after I graduated, got a job, paid off my loans now I am not being killed by the recession

I bought a house I knew I couldn't afford then got evicted because I quit making payments

I was reasonable and had a job so I bought a house I could afford. I still have this home 5 years later.

in this recession the people who will complain the loudest will also be society's most unskilled and unneeded workers.

I guess it is sad that the industrial age turned into the technology age where being an unskilled laborer no longer held the same benefits that it used to.

It's called adaptation.

Well seeing as Alvin Greene is the dem candidate for SC senator maybe you could revise your one word response

Yes. From what I've seen in the past few years, we have to shake some of our prior conceptions of the job market and get more realistic. A lot of the people without jobs studied really worthless topics in school, such as philosophy or political science.

The knowledge is not valuable if you lack the valuable skills to utilize it.

exactly. I took a philosophy class and a few political science classes. I took them as electives as taking under 16 credits per term is a foreign concept. They are the equivalent of reading a sociology book.

I won't lie. I have some useless (to me professionally) knowledge that I paid for through colleges but I would never dream of majoring in them and expecting to create a career out of them.

And manual labor jobs? Building cars or other industrial jobs? Those are going overseas. Now is the time to become a more skilled specialist in technology or administration. Figure out what businesses are hiring the most of, and LEARN those skills. No more status quo, no more laziness. This recession is a wake up call to our workforce.

I find it funny and quasi-odd that libraries are falling by the wayside. Read a book. Learn a trade. Do manual labor. Fuck I'll hire someone to come sit on their ass and mow our field for 100 bucks. (fuck that for me, that's like 4hrs of "work")

People drop out of school and dont take advantage of what is free to them education. But then they take advantage of what cost them no effort (welfare)

Awww, stupid liberals are finally waking up to the reality of the world ... if you suck on the government tit all the time, when the government is forced to take a hit, you lose out too.

If you are smart and rich, even if you have everything stripped from you, you still have your knowledge, independence, and drive, and you will make it back.

Adapt or die ... and the sooner that Liberals DIE off, the better this planet (and our species) will be.

I'm talking about americans. The american factory workers that get laid off aren't snapping up jobs at farms to pick strawberries for $6/hr...unless I'm mistaken about that? It seems to be the mexicans who are doing that.

I find it funny because the recession has not impacted me at all. Not one fucking bit. I mean I might pay a tad more for certain items and I might be unemployed an extra few months when I finish my last degree but I'm not really hurt.

Though paying 11 instead of 10 cents per egg is killer.
