No Period, Negative test?

I took a pregnancy test becuase i usually get my period on the 7 or 8th of a month nd its now the 16 nd it came back negative and just the past two days i have been havin a ache like when you get your period but it hasn't shown and have been feeling very flushed. My boobs don't feel any different and I'm not sure if it's from stress from starting a new job last week. I thought I started my period on the 24th or around then when i had bleeding for a few mintues but then it went away. Does anyone know if the test could have been wrong or if i'm thinking to much into this. Thank you
 
Your body is probably changing cycles due to change in your lifestyle of starting a new job. If the test said negative then just wait and see if your period is just late. I would not stress over this too much because sometimes you just change cycles or miss a month.
