This time they've gone too far.

A remake ( yes, another sodding remake) is being planed............for Flight Of The Navigator!!!!!!!

How dare they mess with this classic.

There is a very serious imagination defeceit going on in Hollywood right now, this decade will be known as the decade nobody could come up with any new ideas for a movie!!!!

It's starting to really piss me off! Ok, rant over, but! I'm not happy :D

I saw the title & I just KNEW it was going to be about Flight of the Navigator :D

And yes you're right, they should leave it alone.

Although I can guarantee the graphics will look loaRAB better than they did :p

There has always been remakes, but there does seem to be an unusually high volume of remake announcements at the moment.

Are the 80s really so long ago now that films of that era are in need of a remake? Personally, I think the SFX in everything post-Star Wars are good enough to be convincing, so that's not a reason such films need a remake.

FLight of the Navigator still looks good. Sure, it might not be as impressively realistic as it could look if made today, but its not wobbly sets and cardboard spaceships. The effects are believable enough, so I really don't see the point.

OH MY GOD!!!

You cannot be serious, how can they remake that amazing film, someone is having a laugh.

I loved David, I thought he was the most gorgeous boy :o

Yep, more or less since film time begun, but at the moment it's incredibly high the amount that are coming out, never been like this.

There is a Korean film called Thirst that was shown at Cannes this year, it already has people racing to remake it. That's the fourth film from the same director getting a remake.

Thanks for letting us know not to go and watch films we don't want to see. We probably wouldn't have worked that one out otherwise.

One wonders why it is such a crime to post opinions on a message board. Its like we're not allowed to say if we like an idea or not.

Some of us are movie fans and it bothers us when Hollywood seems to waste time and money reinventing the wheel. But if it doesn't concern you that the volume of remakes is increasing (and the period between original and remake is decreasing) then by all means say nothing and enjoy the complete lack of originality that will ensue from an industry that feels it can get away with re-selling old ideas.

I have no issue with the concept of remakes (I don't have to see them, after all) but the number of remakes that are either in production or being planned does seem very high at the moment. To the point where it feels like there are more remakes on the way than brand new movies. Something isn't right with the sheer number of remakes at the moment.

It's bizarre, isn't it? I always expect that there will be the occasional remake, but this year studios seem to have gone mad for them and I think it'll backfire on them. Take War Of The WorlRAB as an example. Great spec fx, completely stupid and unneccessary tinkering with the script, which made it nowhere as good as the original. Yes I know we all know the aliens couldn't have come from Mars, but a neighbouring galaxy would have been better than what they came up with.

And this is what I dislike, the messing about with perfectly good storylines. John Carpenter's The Fog is another prime example. WTF were they thinking?????

Like someone stupidly pointed out, of course I won't go and see all these remakes that I dislike, especially this one - but it's worth remembering that all the while time and money are wasted on remakes of perfectly good movies, fresh new ideas are not getting through and we will feel that loss.
