Oh heck, DELIVERANCE is on tonight. ITV1:eek:

I watched this first time when I was about 14, and it was horrible. Not a badly made film, but I distasteful subject.

It's about some men on a boating trip and they come across some gay mountain men, who abuse and 'rape' one of the guys.

Made me sick when I watched it. And I refuse to watch it again.

It's enough to make me puke. :(

Lol! It must be one of the best films ever made!

Hopefully you are a man now and can appreciate the film for what it is..................a thriller.

One of my all time faviorites. Do yourself a favour and watch it again. The 'gay' scene is only a small part of it.

Let us know what you think.........................it's brilliant filmaking. ;)

After having heard lots of hype about this, I finally saw it last year while I was on holiday in the States. My mum was transfixed, but I thought it was a bit disappointing. I was expecting it to be much scarier, and I thought it was all a bit of an anticlimax. I preferred things like The...whatsit? The one with Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon and the canoes and the river...

I suppose it didn't help that when we saw Deliverance it had adverts every ten minutes. It did stop the atmosphere building up. I might try it again tonight.

How old are you now? Surely you have now come to terms with your sexuality?

Cmon try it, you may enjoy it?!

It can't be because I am a woman I love this film? It's one of the greatest films ever made................it must have a few hetro male fans surely?!

The bit that fascinated me the most when I saw it before was trying to work out what I'd seen the little guy in before (and eventually realising he was Otis in Superman), and seeing Angelina Jolie's dad looking so much like her.

Oh I loved that too :D

I saw Deliverance a few years ago, when I was maybe 16. Very unsettling, but a fantastic film.

Why are people talking about it like it's a "gay" movie? Surely it's not sexually appealing to anyone except those with bizarre fetishes.

No one said it's a gay movie. And I have nothing against gay people. But the subject matter of rape leaves me feeling uneasy. it's not a film I can enjoy, even though I can accept it's only acting.

I just don't like it.

I loved Southern Comfort. I found it more unsettling than Deliverance, actually. There's just something about the bayou scenes that I found unnerving.

Yeah I agree. That bloody community get-together, very eerie and unsettling. The music in SC is also fabulous, Ry Cooder at his best.

As for Deliverance, it's a masterpiece. The OP is probably about 13 and cannot fathom the metaphors and symbolisms that litter the film, is my guess ;)

Revolver, don't show your immaturity by attacking another poster because he doesn't like the movie you like. And putting in big worRAB like 'metaphors' and 'symbolisms' doesn't make you any wiser.:D

Wow, he did GCSE English Lit. :D
