No New Bond?

Judi Dench said recently to the The New York Post when talking about the rumours about a new Bond that Pierce Brosnan will still be Bond for the next film Casino Royale "Despite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been tested as his possible replacement, he'll be doing it again, and it'll be announced come summer."
So it may seem that all these rumours about Daniel Craig being cast as Bond maybe false!

I'll be over the moon if this is true, as I though PB last Bond film 'Die Another Day' was great and maybe even one of the best Bond Films. So I am keeping my fingers crossed for that and maybe a remake of OHMSS, as this one is my fav and would love to see done properly

I thought Die Another Day was an abomination; the worst Bond film since DiamonRAB are Forever (which it resembled in too many ways). Brosnan has been increasingly let-down by lousy scripts and dull direction. Goldeneye was great, TMD a film of two halves, TWINE heavily flawed. It would be nice to see Brosnan in a decent Bond film again but he is getting on a bit.

Having said that, I'm unconvinced by Daniel Craig and think Cliven Owen is wrong, wrong, wrong.

i would love brosnan to be bond again my opinion is he is the best so far, but i think they need to go back a bit in the storylines and return the the likes of Goldeneye (my fav!!)

Die Another Day was possibly the worst Bond ever (ok, maybe Moonraker was worse). It was almost a parody - I think the producers meeting must have been along the lines of: "lets think of every Bond cliche going, then add lots of totally unnecessary slo-mo special effects - oh and forget plot - no one cares about that".

Brosnan is a good actor and a good Bond - but hopefully whoever plays the role will get a good script and plot - and yes, lets remake OHMSS or Casino Royale or anything that is good!

I completely agree, Die Another Day was dire. I seriously hope that Pierce Brosnan gets to do one more and it's really good cos it'd be a shame to end it on something that's so shockingly awful especially after how amazing GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough were.

I do hope it turns out true that Brosnan will take the role again, would never want to see Clive Owen as Bond, urgh.

But I am waiting till the official word from the makers before getting excited about who the next Bond is going to be.

I wasn't happy with Daniel Craig either.

Clive own could be OK, but he's just not... hanRABome enough. he's ruggedly good looking, but just isn't right.

Many moons ago someone mentioned Ioin Griffud - I think he could be excellent for the role in about 5-10 years. let him get a few gray hairs first.

i really cant stand brosnan , i think the last few bond movies have been terrible .

I would enjoy watching any of the names that have been mentioned . Brosnan for me is like a little creep with a constant smirk and 1 reaction for all ocassions .SMUG SMUG SMUG

Get a gritty bond in ,Give Eric Bana the license

Apparently this whole "new bond" thing is just Brosnan and the Bond production team playing hard ball over his pay packet and eventually they will come to an agreement.

Why? I think the reason why the Bond franchise is dying is because it's too unbelievable now the stars are nearing pension age.

They should take it right back to basics with a young rebellious and humorous Bond like Sean originally played him.

James Purefoy is apparently up for Bond again, although this is probably sparked by his leaving the lead role in 'V for Vendetta' for 'undisclosed reasons'.

"James Purefoy screen tested for "GoldenEye" back in 1995, but the role would go to the public's favourite - Pierce Brosnan. Nine years later, Purefoy is back in the frame to play James Bond...."

They reckon that even if Brosnan does come back for Bond 21, Purefoy is leading the race for Bond 22, as Brosnan has always said if he did 21, it'd be his last.
